As I stepped inside, I was warmly greeted by Tatiana, who spoke fluent English and exuded a friendly charm. I spotted the owner, Juan, skillfully preparing tacos, and my mouth began to water in anticipation. Without hesitation, I ordered three tacos, and let me tell you, they were divine! To wash it all down, I opted for a refreshing tamarind juice that paired perfectly with the flavours. The atmosphere was so inviting, filled with friendly smiles and delicious aromas that made me feel right at home. We stumbled upon this little spot and were instantly drawn in by its small menu—a sign of true quality, in my opinion. Naturally, we decided to try every taco on the list. And just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, the staff recommended a taco that wasn’t even on the menu yet. Every bite was perfection. The flavors were fresh, bold, and perfectly balanced—honestly, the best tacos we’ve ever had. But we didn’t stop there. Given how outstanding the tacos were, we had to try every dessert as well. And once again, the team at Tortea surprised us with something off-menu: a brioche bun filled with the most incredible mango custard cream. Freshly made, light yet indulgent, and simply unforgettable. Beyond the food, what made this experience so special was the passion of the staff. They clearly love what they do, and it shows in every recommendation and every dish that comes out of the kitchen. If you’re in Santander, do yourself a favor and make a stop at Tortea.
